Kirsten Palmer Harrison Memorial Fund

Hello everyone,
As many of you know, in March 2017, Kirsten was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (stage 3 Breast Cancer). Her 3 year fight with cancer was hellacious to say the least. As part of her battle, she endured 8 rounds of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, underwent surgery for a mandatory double mastectomy (removal of both breasts) and began medically-induced menopause at the age of 33. Kirsten did whatever it took to stay and raise her two children (Chloe 8, Gavin 5).

In the years since her initial diagnosis, Kirsten and Nate took comfort in their faith and their loved ones. Although their plan to have more children changed, they continued to rejoice in their Savior, often saying and teaching their children "We are blessed and we know it". When a PET scan showed no remaining cancerous tissue, we all thought Kirsten had successfully beaten cancer.

A few weeks ago, Kirsten began experiencing double vision.  The subsequent workup demonstrated multiple metastatic tumors to her brain, both lungs, her liver and on her adrenal gland. For anyone that has been affected by cancer or faced the possibility of losing a loved one, this recurrence is devastating.

Just like last time, the outpouring of support after this revelation has been "overwhelming". Kirsten and Nathanael are extremely grateful for the help and love that has been given by family and friends.

Now 35, Kirsten is gearing up for another fight for her life. This stage 4 cancer diagnosis comes as their young family completes a move to Arizona for Nathanael’s new job. With this move, they were caught in a gap in their insurance coverage. Along with the already accumulated medical bills, the anticipated bills will be difficult to bear. Their battle with cancer is not over, and neither is our support. It is again our time to reach out and help in any way we can. Any amount you are able to donate to help in this new battle against cancer is very much appreciated. Please keep them in your prayers, help us spread the word, and thank you very much in advance.

While battling cancer over the last three years, Kirsten strengthened, uplifted and helped those around her. As she met others, also in the fight against cancer, she was a source of positivity, light and hope. While the treatments left her weak, she used the strength she did have to help others. Kirsten has always been the shining example of what it means to turn outward when life tries to force us to turn inward. Please use this as a chance to turn outward, pay it forward and provide profound help to this family.
