Help bring our little Gypsy puppy home from Bali!!
Spende geschützt
If you’ve been to Bali, you’ll know that there is a horrendous dog problem and that they are literally everywhere you go. Lots do have homes, but still roam, others go from place to place. Most are older though and surprisingly well nourished. I was warned about this and I knew I’d have to accept the situation as an intense dog lover.
We never thought we’d end up rescuing a little puppy from being hit by 3 cars…

On our second last day, we spotted her and chased her on our bike for 1.5km whilst literally running for her life. We managed to catch her luckily. She’d run a marathon and was so so hot but finally drank some water from my hand. I also had some dog treats in my bag with me from home and scoffed them immediately! She was incredibly frightened but knew she wouldn't hurt me.
I named her Gypsy right then and there and it was love at first sight.
In good condition but pretty filthy, we took her back to our accommodation. We raced out and bought some eggs and food/collar/lead/bed/worming tablets.
Within 10min we were having cuddles and she was trotting around like she owned the place. We bathed her and she looked shiny and new. The transformation in such a short time was incredible…

So then the hunt for a home in Bali began. She went everywhere with us (she was so calm on the bike!!). We tried EVERYTHING. I joined and posted on multiple FB pages, asked literally everyone we saw and met. Spoke to restaurant owners, emailed or messaged anyone who we were put in contact with as 'maybe' options.
Our final resort was leaving her with our lovely accommodation boys as there was no way she was going in a shelter. Once they go in, they don't come out.
Little Gypsy has moved from the villa and is now in Ubud temporarily and is being cared for there.
As Indonesia isn’t on the ‘safe’ list for importing animals to Australia directly, she would need to be vaccinated, desexed, board for a month in Bali then be relocated to quarantine/safe pet stay in Brunei for 6 months, flown to Melbourne for a 10 day stay then home to us. ♥️
The total cost is far more than noted here but we would be forever grateful for any help, no matter how small, to bring our baby girl home and have her here safely with us.
We can't save them all (as much as we'd love to), but we can save one and she was chosen xx
