Food for the Heart

Ramini Mozzarella wants to first say, THANK YOU! EVERYONE.

Thank you to my sister in law and all the medical professionals who are putting their lives and sanity on the line.

Thank you to all the restaurants who are working so hard to convert to take out and deliveries and provide us with the food we still need.

Thank you to all of you out there who love Ramini Mozzarella and all that we represent. Those who have sent love, support, bought cheese just to help, sent cards and cash.

Thank you to the thinkers out there who, like me refuse to succumb and who bounced up and said…Ok well then, this is what we have to do now.

Thank you to the farmers, ranchers and local food producers who have struggled, had to throw food away, reinvent them selves. But we are going to learn through this nothing is safer than getting our food from the farmer in our community or the chef that we know, love and trust.

Thank you to the community who is buying take-out from the restaurants to ensure the survival of all who work to feed us

Thank you to my friends who are taking neighborhood orders and delivering my cheese to their neighbors to support me and bring beautiful healthy food to their community.

Thank you to everyone wearing a mask and staying home so farmers like me can go out there every day and feed our animals, tend our crops, make our product and find new ways to sell it. For staying home so less get sick and less end up at the hospitals.

Thank you to the amazing people singing from their windows, making funny home videos, on line concerts and showing us all how to love and spread some fun and joy.

This is one of the most historic times of our lives and when we look back it will be nice to say we can be proud of how we took the blow and rose above.

My heart breaks for all the loss, loss of life, loss of food, loss of jobs and for the impact it is having for those who really see the horror of it, the medical professionals and first responders. I know we will look back and see how amazing we are and how we got through it with love dignity, integrity, creativity and we found so many silver linings. We will never be the same but we will be better. I am sure of it.

I found a way to describe what is happening for me. We all have our own story of survival. Parents who have to home school, my cleaning lady who has no work, family members in the hospitals caring for the sick and seeing the death first hand. Restaurants struggling for survival.

The businesses that had to close down that were staffed by humans as sad as it is, many of their employees can stay home and collect unemployment. The owners we pray can hang on to their lease and hopefully reopen.

My employees have a lifetime contract. They do not work for money that can be replaced with an unemployment check, they work for food, lots of food and I cannot let go of my lease because it is their home. They are living breathing water buffalo who know nothing of corona virus.

So Ramini Mozzarella cannot take a break. I am not bored at home binge watching TV and trying new recipes, catching up on novels and cleaning closets or tending my garden.

I had three streams of revenue pre Covid

Restaurants…. They all closed
Our ranch tours….. they had to stop
My design project…. Wouldn’t you know it, it was a restaurant and in construction, Yes you guessed it……….stopped.

The Farmers Markets have been a saving grace and thank you to everyone who is coming specifically to help support Ramini Mozzarella. I had hoped between the Farmers Markets and the government we could get through this..... still nothing from the government.

I have received hundreds of calls, text messages, and emails asking me to set up a means of supporting us for those who love us from afar and want to help. Who know how bad this is for farmers and ranchers who want to be a part of sustaining the businesses they love and want to make sure are still there for them when this settles down to our new normal.

I was reluctant because I know we are all hurting, but so many people have requested I make supporting us easy and possible. So I have created this Go Fund Me. I think so many know that every little bit helps and every act of giving is an act of healing.

It is……. Food For the Heart.
