May's Battle with Cancer

Donation protected
****UPDATE****
My mother went under for surgery on March 2nd of this year. The surgery was a total of 14 hours, it consisted of tumor removal along with a big portion of my mother’s jawbone. My mother’s fibula was used to reconstruct her jaw. 37 lymph nodes were also removed. The cancer was not 100% gone but we were told most of it was and anything left behind were small cells. My mom has had so much of her independence taken from this horrible disease. After her surgery she was unable to walk, eat, breathe, on her own for about a good month. My mom has finally gained back most of her independence. But on June 6th we found out her cancer had returned just as aggressive as before. Her face has swelled up again and oncologist, and radiologist were ready for her to begin her treatment with a few changes. With high dosages of radiation and weekly treatments of chemotherapy for the next 7 weeks my mother will be out of work for almost triple the time she was thought out to be. Her job won’t be safe much longer and her pay checks have decreased significantly. With trips to Gilbert every week day for the next 7 weeks, a significant amount of income missing and restaurants being out of season I’m in a little bit of a panic. I just want to make sure my mom can be comfortable and we can pay our bills which isn’t going very well and hasn’t been for a while. My siblings and i are doing everything we can but can’t seem to catch a break. We just want our mom better. I appreciate you all taking your time to read, share and donate.

I want to start off by saying my mother is the strongest most wonderful person I have ever met.  On January 22nd after a routine dental follow up, our world changed.  We thought my mother had an infected tooth, and it turned out to be cancer.  My mother helps support our entire family.  She has always worked very hard to raise three children on her own.  It is because of this, she has not been able to save money for herself.

My mother needs surgery and they will not do the surgery without a $4,000 down payment in addition to that a $250 overnight hospital stay fee for 10 days. It is thought to be in her lymph nodes, and it has not spread to her other organs.  At this point all we know is that she needs the cancer removed, part of her jaw reconstructed and several rounds of chemo. She has not worked since the diagnosis, and will be out of work for 3-6 additional months. My sister and I have missed work to take care of her and are struggling already.
Her surgery is scheduled for March 2nd, and we are worried we will not be able to come up with the down payment.  Even with the down payment secured, we won't be able to afford our bills, child care, or transportation to and from appointments.

Everyday I see the worry of the world in my mothers face, and I can't take it away.  She has always made me feel safe everyday of my life, but I cannot do the same for her alone. Please help us if you can even if it is only a few dollars.  Every little bit helps.
