This past week we saw the untimely tragic passing of Rob Blass.  We all knew Rob in different ways, and he touched all of us.  Rob was fun, caring and compassionate; Rob was loving and kind.  Rob embraced life and put his heart and soul into everything he did.  One passion of Rob's was teaching.  There was not a student at Columbia University Medical Center who did not benefit from Rob's guidance.  In mourning Rob's passing let us remember all that he loved and give back to the perfusion community and profession that Rob held so dear to his heart.  Let us honor Rob by creating the Rob Blass Memorial Scholarship to allow him to continue giving to perfusion students.  Any donation you see fit would be greatly appreciated to allow Rob's memory to live on.

Every year a $1000 scholarship will go to a second year perfusion student in clinical rotations who personifies Rob's love for perfusion.  Rob made a difference in every person's life that he touched and he will continue to live in our hearts through the scholarship.
