You may remember this little boy, who we have now named Ollie, on our last trip, Steve, whilst on his way home stopped to feed a Mummy dog and her puppies in a remote part of Turkiye. As Steve was feeding the dogs he heard cries coming from some grass nearby which turned out to be Ollie. He is only about seven weeks old, he had a shattered back leg and tail, also a broken front leg, possibly from being run over and then dumped. Following a veterinary visit, they confirmed the back leg and tail would have to be amputated as it was not salvageable and gangrene had set in. The front leg would need to be in a splint for five weeks.
If this little baby’s cries hadn’t been heard he would now be dead and would have suffered terribly. As much as Steve would like to have rescued them all he couldn’t, but he also couldn’t leave this little one to suffer.
We are currently looking for donations to help with ongoing medical expenses. Ollie is currently been looked after by Steve and Karen who will foster him when he is well enough to leave the vet clinic. They already have two rescue dogs and a foster dog who has just recovered from Distemper.
We alone cannot save them all, the local charities are crying out for funding but how can we walk away knowing some dogs and cats are suffering, starving and neglected.
When Ollie is well enough we will try and find him a forever home but for now we need help to get him well. If you can donate and help with our pledge to Ollie we would be eternally grateful. Please anything you can spare will help to get him better.
