Support Unplugged Oakland 2.0: A Benefit Concert for Humane Animal Rescue

Our Story:

Hello! We’re Rory and Macklin Monaghan from the Unplugged project, two brothers from Pittsburgh, PA, passionate about music and animal welfare. I'm Rory, a 21-year-old Neuroscience major at the University of Pittsburgh, and my 16-year-old brother is a creative writing student at CAPA Performing Arts School. Together, along with the rest of the Unplugged team, we’re organizing Unplugged Oakland 2.0, a community-driven music festival with one goal in mind: to support the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP).

Why This Matters:

HARP holds a special place in our hearts. Our close friends Jacob and Ava, both Pitt graduates, adopted three wonderful pets from HARP—Aspen, Nyako, and Seki. Seeing the positive impact this organization has had on our friends’ lives and the lives of countless animals inspired us to give back in the best way we know how: through music.

On September 14th, 2024, we’ll be hosting Unplugged Oakland 2.0 at The Concrete Slab on Flagstaff Hill, right in the heart of Pittsburgh. This 5.5-hour festival will feature local musicians, food trucks, and a beautiful view over the Phipps Conservatory and the rest of Oakland. Our mission is to create an unforgettable experience while raising funds for HARP, ensuring more animals find loving homes.
