Avery's Hope - for a seizure dog

Avery Grace is a sweet little 3 year old girl that loves kitties, Bubble Guppies, & the Green Bay Packers! She absolutely loves music, reading books, doing crafts, dancing, snuggling with her puppy, kitty, & Mommy, horsing around with Daddy, & going to the pool! She is extremely social, smiley, loving, & I dare you not to smile & giggle in the presence of this sweet angel! ;)
Avery was born with a rare congenital brain malformation called Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum (ACC), where the midline structure (corpus callosum) of the brain never formed & never will. She also has some other brain malformations, developmental delays, & epilepsy which is our biggest struggle. Avery started having seizures at 3.5 months old & she is diagnosed with a debilitating form of epilepsy called intractable/refractory epilepsy. She suffers from seizures nearly every day, & typically has them 2-3 times per day, despite medications & monthly treatments at the children's hospital. She cannot be left alone or sleep alone (mom lies next to her during all naps (2-3 per day) and at night), & she sleeps a lot.
Since we cannot stop Avery's seizures, our goal is to keep her safe. A wonderful organization called, Noelle's Dogs Four Hope (www.noellesdogsfourhope.com), has offered to find & train a seizure alert dog for Avery, for half of the cost of other organizations!!!! The dog itself, obedience training, seizure response training, travel & boarding expenses, etc., will total around $10,000-12,000 which is still expensive, so we definitely NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Having a seizure alert dog would be an AMAZING opportunity for Avery!!! This dog would alert us prior to or during a seizure, protect Avery from harm during a seizure, cushion her fall, retrieve her emergency medications, press a specially designed 911 button, etc. Isn't that amazing?! The dog can even sleep next to & go to school with Avery to protect her when we cannot be with her!! How wonderful is that????!!!! These dogs save lives!!!!
