Help for Pierre to fight Cancer

This is a very difficult thing to have to write but it is of paramount importance to try and help someone who is not only very dear to me but also to so many others.
My strong, dependable, hardworking and ever loyal friend Pierre Morrod is 42. He lives in Plymouth with his wife Dasha and son Angus who is 2 years old this month.
In July of this year Pierre became very ill with what was thought to be a kidney infection, this continued for a further 4 weeks without showing any signs of improvement. The doctors advised that the issue was due to kidney stones. However, he had a strong feeling that this was not the correct diagnosis and pleaded that he have a scan to look at the problem in more detail. After some focused pressure and attention on Pierre’s part, he finally received the scan in August which showed he had a large mass on his Kidney. This provided confirmation a week later that the mass was unfortunately cancer, this was naturally a huge shock and a very worrying situation that he and his family found themselves in.
After further investigation is was confirmed that he had a large tumour within his kidney which had also migrated into his main artery which moves the blood back to his heart. He was advised that he would have to undergo a very high risk operation to remove his kidney along with the tumour extension from his artery. The tumour appeared contained and from the CT scans there seemed to be no further spread of the cancer. So, potentially he could be cured which delivered some positive news in such a difficult and frightening time.
Thankfully the main operation was a success but sadly it was confirmed that the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes, lungs and abdomen and he now has stage 4 cancer. He has just begun Immunotherapy which has a 50/50 chance of success but if it doesn’t then he will have lost 3 precious months and his cancer will more than likely have progressed further. There are alternative treatments but these can also fail without private targeted therapy which is currently not available on the NHS.
The sole purpose of this funding page is to provide Pierre and his family some financial support and to raise funds so he can explore alternative treatments / 2nd opinions along with access to drugs and resources not available through the NHS.
Life is extremely difficult and worrying for this family and I would ask that if you are able, please help support in his fight. We have to try and help Pierre through this so he can be the husband and father that his wife and son need and live the life that he rightly deserves.
Pierre is a friend to many and is very much loved. I would ask that anyone that knows him and anyone that hasn’t had the pleasure to be in his company, your help is very much needed. Let’s please, please push this fighting fund forward as quickly as possible. Give assistance if you can and please share this with everyone you know to at least give him options along with hope and the family some greatly needed help and support.
