Hello,
My name is Tom. I work for a large worldwide company and met a 33-year-old woman who was working for a catering company that we were using for an event. I got to learn her story and life a little from a few of her co-workers.
She has 3 children, ages 14, 10, and 6. Her life was great until her other half up and left. She tried to hold everything together with the little money she had saved until that ran out. The catering company that employs her is busiest during the summertime, and now that winter is here, her hours have dwindled to hardly any. The catering company was great for her because it worked for her to bring the kids to school and get them when the school day was done.
I talked to her briefly to find out that her car was repossessed 2 weeks ago, to make matters worse. I spoke to her landlord and helped bring her rent up to date at my expense, on the condition that he took the credit for it.
Every morning, she gets the kids up for school, feeds them, and walks them 2 miles to get them to school. She has obtained emergency SNAP.
She does not know I am doing this, as she seems to think she can make it on her own. I do not see that happening without a little help, to at least get her started by buying a cheap vehicle for the upcoming winter months to get the kids to and from school.
We are fundraising to help her buy a cheap vehicle for the upcoming winter months to get the kids to and from school.
