Education Fund for Missy & David Worden’s Sons

In September 2022, our beloved David Worden passed away unexpectedly, losing his long battle with depression. Mental illness touches every family. David was a dedicated husband of 25 years to the love of his life, Missy Worden and proud father to his sons, Penn and Shepard.
David had two graduate math degrees and was a devoted public-school teacher for five years in New Orleans. Missy worked tirelessly as a board-certified music therapist with Fulton County Schools in Georgia for 23 years.

With three graduate degrees between them, David and Missy loved teaching and learning, and higher education was a through line in their lives.
Sons Penn and Shep are at early stages in their education. In tribute to David and Missy‘s love of teaching and learning, we set up this fund as a future education support for Penn and Shep, so that they may pursue college and graduate school—or any other studies if they choose—without cost as an obstacle.
The family wishes to thank all who lifted up David and Missy in their lifetimes, and all who support Penn and Shep now.
David was happiest with Missy, Penn and Shep, and most proud of the fine young men his sons have become. He drew comfort knowing that Missy would have been proud as well.
