In the words of my sister, "Kidness, compassion, integrity, honesty are not enough to describe this man."  Hayden Hinkley, my brother in law, was affectionately know as the gentle giant. His compassion served him well as a Registered Nurse on the cardiac floor of McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital.  On Tuesday, November 10th, Hayden tragically suffered a brain aneurysm that quickly and unexpectedly took his life.  Hayden leaves behind his wife, Karen and 3 children, Nicci, Rain and Summit along with heartbroken family, friends and colleagues. This tragic loss brings grief and unexpected financial challenges which include funeral expenses, household expenses and the approaching holidays with two young children.  

Karen and Hayden have spent their lives as nurses helping and caring for others.  This is our opportunity to extend our caring and support to this family by reducing their financial burden through this campaign.  

Karen's final words about her husband....

"His love will go on forever.  His memories will be carried by us all.  His legacy in these beautiful faces.  Tonight I am broken for my babies.  I have truly known love and have truly been loved in return.  My solace and comfort in my short time with this man is the gifts he has given me in our children.  If that was our purpose together, to create these crazy wonderful little human beings, than that has been enough.  I ache for what should have been, but I will stay strong knowing he was mine, even for a short while.  He will continue to save lives even in his passing and that my friends is the truest definition of a hero."
