Donation protected
In April 2022, Abraham was unexpectedly diagnosed with End Stage Kidney disease due to a long battle with juvenile diabetes. Since being diagnosed, everything in his life has changed as he has had to adjust to a new normal that includes dialysis treatments 3 times per week at the young age of 35.
During his battle with kidney disease, he has been put on a less than likely possible waiting list that may take upwards of 7 years at least if he is considered by the doctors in San Diego.
As he may have a possible donor, we are looking to have him get a transplant in Guadalajara, Jalisco where his family is from. When discussing the possible donor with the care team in the states, hope dwindled as that wouldn't make a difference for him here.
We are asking for any help possible to get Abraham's transplant moving in the right direction with a dedicated and caring team in Guadalajara. We appreciate if all that can be done is spreading the word. This journey has not been an easy one and one that we have kept close in our family as its been the hardest thing Abe has ever had to face.
