Hello, I am Deanna, Kenneth’s twin sister. To be completely honest, I have put off doing this for quite some time because it isn’t easy. The first anniversary of Ken’s death has recently passed us. It still doesn’t feel real, and this process has been challenging. During this past year, we have been planning Ken’s final resting place, and if you have ever had to go through this for a loved one, you know how difficult it can be. But, it’s important to us to memorialize him, remember the funny, charming, loving person he was, and have a permanent place where friends and family can visit him.
We found the perfect spot at Fairmount Memorial, on the green, just like we’d think Ken would want. Eliana, his niece, was the one who helped find the spot. She was playing underneath this wondrous tree as if she was drawn to it and wouldn’t leave. Something about it felt right, and I could picture him being there playing along with her. It overlooks the river and state park with such a beautiful backdrop view.
The morning after finding this spot, I had a friend reach out to me, and they had a dream about Ken. They were standing outside a beautiful garden with a gate, and Ken told her he had a lot of stuff to do. When she told me this, it solidified the decision on where he would be, because you get a view of a beautiful garden once you can visit him. It was as if Ken was reaching out to tell us he had some things to take care of before we laid him to rest. So we are asking for your help. It doesn’t matter how much or how little; anything will help so that he can be at peace. The headstone will depict his love for music, golf and basketball. The color of his urn will be a beautiful sky blue because it reminds us of his eyes. There will be a small internment ceremony once we can raise enough funds. Unfortunately, we cannot move forward in the process and place him to rest until all expenses are paid.
Please help us memorialize Ken; anything you can spare is appreciated. Ken was such a kind, loving soul, and we want to give everyone a peaceful place to visit him.
Thank you for all the love and support you have shown our family in the last year. It truly has meant a lot to each of us.
