The Harris Family

Friends - we are organizing this fundraiser to help the Harris Family! For those not aware, Rich Harris has been extremely ill and in the hospital for several weeks.

What started as a typical virus led to inflammation of the heart and damage to the kidneys. Rich had to be airlifted to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital due to the severity of his illness. He is showing improvement (even making typical Rich jokes here and there!) but the road ahead looks like it will be a long one. Of course, Carol, Kayley and Madison have been at his side throughout this entire process, not leaving the hospital for days at a time. Obviously, this came as a complete shock to the Harris family- literally days before he got sick, Rich and Carol were in Clearwater watching the Phillies for spring training!

Rich is a fighter, but his prognosis is unclear at the moment. We are asking for donations to help The Harris Family get through this difficult time. Medical bills will be extensive and ongoing. Carol is doing an amazing job throughout this ordeal, juggling working nights, being Rich's best medical advocate and providing emotional support for the family. Kayley and Madison have shown strength and support, as well - as Rich would say "that's just good parenting!"

We all know that Rich is one of the most selfless guys you will ever meet, generous with his time and talents. He has volunteered with almost every organization his kids have been involved with, especially LSAA Softball, devoting countless hours coaching over the years. He is the first guy to jump in and lend a hand to anyone who needs help- we just want to return the favor.

We are asking for you not to share with Rich that we're doing this - he has enough on his plate right now. We are raising funds to benefit him as quietly as we can. Thanks so much for your help and support for someone who has helped and supported so many of us.
