A little over 3 months ago, a dear friend and coworker of 10 years at Hendrick in Hoover received devastating news: he was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma cancer, which has already spread to his lymph nodes. Wednesday, he began his second round in his treatment journey.

To say this has been hard would be an understatement. Gunter is a single father to his son. This diagnosis was unexpected —but he’s facing it with courage, strength, and hope.
