Debbie was diagnosed with Huntingtons Disease (HD) on May 15th, 2012. Huntington's disease is an inherited disease that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. HD has a broad impact on a person's functional abilities and usually results in movement, thinking (cognitive) and psychiatric disorders. There are few medications to help with the symptoms and treatments can't prevent the physical, mental and behavioral decline associated with the condition. Debbie has been unable to work since October 2013. Debbie solely relies on social security disability for income due to her inability to work. We hope to raise funds to help Debbie cover some health care and living expenses.
