Hi my name is Sara. I have two children ages 16 and 25 and a loving husband. In 2020 I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer during COVID. I had a double mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemotherapy and 31 rounds of proton radiation. I was declared cancer free.

Last week I went into see my oncologist for my annual appointment and I told him I was loosing my voice and had a cough but he felt like that was more of my autoimmune flair up and not cancer but he ordered CT just to make sure.

well, that scan came back with a 2” tumor that looks very suspicious for cancer. The only thing oncologist said he could do for it was more chemotherapy, and we did that , it didn’t work.

After four days of disbelief from the news and lots of research my husband and I feel like going to Mexico to get integrative care at a center offers the most hope for me. I have had five years to do my research and I knew the chemo never cured me. Now I’ll get the chance to heal the right way. We have not picked the exact clinic yet. We are interviewing with two doctors tomorrow. Hopefully we will have the perfect place picked out and a clear plan.
