Fundraiser for Cameron Grant’s Legacy

Cameron Grant lived a vibrant, multi-faceted life over 58 incredible years. To some, he was a childhood friend, a kid soprano in Europe, a first crush, or a lifelong companion. In his younger days, you might have shared adventures on winding highways in a camper van, snuck into the clubs where he sang, or found yourself on his couch—or even in his closet—on Grant Street! As an adult, he was the life of late nights and creative pursuits, whether standing in line at Babalu, sharing a laugh with friends at Main Street, or recording music in his home studio. He also gave his heart to his church community, leading music on Sunday mornings and connecting deeply with those around him.

Cameron’s journey took a profound turn in 2009 when he faced end-stage liver disease. What began as a hopeless diagnosis transformed into a story of resilience and miracles. With the support of his true love Caitlyn , friends, and medical teams, Cam embraced sobriety, faced high-stakes treatments, and eventually found himself on the liver transplant list. Every step forward was a triumph, as he rediscovered purpose in fatherhood, sobriety, and meaningful connection.

Alas, after a series of serious medical complications and infections this year, he was admitted to hospital in Saskatoon.

The transplant team were ready to get him on the top of

the transplant list as soon the infection was resolved. But it didn’t resolve. His organs started to fail, and even then the team at RUH supporting his wishes wouldn’t surrender hope. He was placed on life support to bridge the potential for transplant to the moment his body fought off the bacteria.

On Thursday December 11th it was determined that the antibiotics had taken too much of a toll on the other organs in his body, and they had to conclude he was not a candidate for a new liver.

His body took its last breath surrounded by family and hospital staff that loved him. We were all moved by his strength and faith. He died believing new life was on the horizon and as all prayers, was answered, just not as we expected.

While his health journey was long and challenging, Cam’s life was filled with love, laughter, and moments of pure joy with his 2 beautiful daughters, Gwendolyn, and Avery. He inspired those around him with his courage and ability to find light even in difficult times. His legacy is one of music, family, resilience, and hope.

We are creating this fundraiser to honour Cameron Grant’s life and to support his precious family as they navigate the path forward. Contributions will help preserve his legacy, support his children, and fund initiatives close to his heart. Your generosity will ensure that Cam’s love and spirit continue to shine for years to come.
