My name is Grace and I'm raising money to transport my rescue horse, Juliet, home to NC. I adopted her only a few months ago and was warned that she was very shy and needed a lot of work, as she had come from a kill pen.
But the first day I had her, we bonded. She trusts me implicitly. This horse, who was highly difficult to catch, now approaches me in the arena and follows me at my back pocket. She calls for me when I approach, and hugs me and dozes off when I pet her. She chose me, and our shared affection is clear to anyone who observes us. As any animal lover can understand, the love of a rescue is deeply special.
Juliet is beautiful, trusting, smart, gentle, and eager to learn. That she came from a kill pen still blows my mind.
Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I've had to move across the country to North Carolina, and I'm forced to leave her behind in Utah until I can afford to haul her out. We were living with a heinous landlord who, despite taking my money to allow her to graze in pasture, refused to keep the gate to the property closed. She escaped almost to the highway and that landlord explicitly told my other roommates not to help me find her. She's been moved to a barn down the street, but I desperately want her to reunite with me in NC.
She deserves to be safe, and she deserves to be with her family.
After researching hauling costs from Moab to Winston-Salem, I've realized it will cost around $3600 to bring her home.
So, I humbly ask for y'all's help in raising funds to get her out. Anything helps; including offers to haul from connections in the horse community for a lower fee than the professionals.
Any and all donations will go to saving up for her transport.
Help me keep my family together
