Help Dorothy Recover

This isn't a typical GoFundMe. It isn't to help someone go to college. It isn't because someone's home burnt down. Nobody needs to have a funeral service. This is a go fund me for a person who fell a little in life. A friend who fell into a trap. A family member that woke up one day and realized she was leading the wrong life. Most of us have been through one thing or another; sometimes handling it ourselves, other times needing help. This happens to be one of those times someone needs some help. We are lucky enough to live in a day and age where a person can go out on a limb and open up to others and possibly get a much needed boost.

“This is personal and embarrassing, but that’s why I’m posting it. The root cause of all these medical issues is because I have liver disease from alcoholism. I felt this coming on and my last drink was on 2/23 and went into the hospital on 3/3.
LUCKILY, I caught it early enough that if I stop drinking, my liver will heal and I’ll live a long and happy life. However, I could’ve died and would’ve had I not gone to the doctor and that’s quite (pun intended) sobering. Some of you know I have issues with booze, most of you don’t, but even the people closest to me didn’t know how bad and for how long I’ve been on and off the wagon. I’m motivated as hell to get into an inpatient rehab, but unfortunately my insurance won’t cover any substance abuse help so everything will be out of pocket.
I’m posting this here because it will help me hold myself accountable and it lets everyone know that I can’t meet you for happy hour and please don’t offer me a drink. Just be supportive.”

We have all fallen on hard times and we have all needed a little help/support from our closest loved ones and friends. I am starting this GoFund me for my very close friend of mine who needs some help. Not only have I known Dorothy since Elementary School but since I have moved back to Arizona, she is been MY ROCK, so its my turn to be HER ROCK.  Please help me in my efforts to raise money for an inpatient/outpatient facility that can assist her in recovery. Her insurance of course does not cover substance abuse programs and she is even unable to add this benefit to her existing policy. I have worked in medical billing/coding for years and after dealing with insurances on a daily basis I know firsthand how hard it is getting benefits covered. Let us come together in this time of need and HELP DOROTHY in any way we can to raise enough to get her into a facility with trained professionals to assure she is around for years to come. Before I close this I would like to add one thing. Think back to the times where you needed help and it wasn't there and then think of the times help came and how big of a difference it made. Personally, I'd like to get my hand drawn birthday card from Dorothy next year and know that she will be there for me like she always is when I need it.   So please join me in raising funds to  get her into a facility that can help.
