In 2016, my 55 y/o husband was diagnosed with liver cancer. we immediately made an appointment with UPenn while under their care we were told he needed a transplant. We were also told that we can go to another hospital that provides transplants to have a better possibility of finding a liver. So we sought out and found Presbyterian hospital in New York City. That also meant a new set of medical bills. Between the radiation treatments and special medication for both hospitals depleted our money. In 2020 my husband lost his battle, that I still have not gotten over. Needless to say we did not have an insurance policy either.

Fast forward in 2023 I was diagnosed with melanoma of my thumb bed. I went to Memorial Sloan Kettering for Care. Part of the testing was a test called Lymph node mapping which they took biopsies of my lymph nodes and also did a bronchoscopy to see if the melanoma spread anywhere else. They additionally discovered, adenocarcinoma of the lung. The first decision was to amputate my thumb and then start me on aggressive form of chemotherapy for my lung. after the chemotherapy they would surgically remove the lymph nodes by the lung and also do a lobectomy.

Now cashing out everything(bonds, 401) to hold out and make ends meet through the monies I have. It has been six weeks since I filed the short-term disability and still no response from them. Even if I get approved the payment from them will not cover everything that I owe. Now I have next to nothing in my bank account. I have a $3500 mortgage payment I owe $5000 for the IRS, I am as of now totaling over $5000 in medical bills, plus all the other cost of living. As much as it kills me, I am forced to reach out to all of you to see if you can help me and donate whatever you can. So I can possibly keep my house, pay my medical bills and my other (utilities).
