Helping Harry

If you've ever been around old BMWs...(or perhaps a superbly prepared piece of pork,) you've probably met or seen our friend Harry Bonkosky's name come up. Harry lives in Puerto Rico, where he faces some new and frightening challenges, having been diagnosed with the advanced stages of Prostate Cancer. (A Cancer that will occur in nearly all men, eventually!)
His treatments include radiation and hormone therapies, and due to his illness, his ability to earn a living has been difficult and quite frankly, impossible. This disease and its treatment has consumed the entirety of his life's savings and it's up to all of us to return the gift of friendship he has so consistently given us.
Let's do it with money... and make that ONE thing he doesn't have to worry about during this journey.
I've known Harry for nearly 30 years. He's a fella that, when we finally met in person, we instinctively hugged each other. In the world of old BMWs, Harry has always been our collective BMW and life cheerleader. He's the guy that's happy when he sees other people happy. How could you NOT love and hug a human being like that?
This humble but noble man has always been the first person to help someone else in need. How so, you ask?
Allow me to give you just one example: Consider that after Puerto Rico's hurricane of 2017, it was Harry himself, that put the needs of his employees before his own, making sure they were housed, fed, and were able to earn an income during the chaos that followed that storm. People like him are rare and deserve to be cherished.
Now that Harry has no regular income to cover his treatments and day-to-day expenses, it's time for all of us to repay that immeasurable karma and good will that he has spread among the vintage BMW community and far far beyond it. Our world needs more people like Harry Bonkosky.
