Tony Tompkins - Cancer & Medical Help

Donation protected
I started this campaign to help my father Anthony (Tony) Tompkins to help with his medical needs. My father is a strong and stubborn man and would never ask for help himself. However he is very much in need of help right now and possibly for some time to come. My father is 55 years old and has been healthy almost his entire life. He is a father to my sister and I as well as a grandfather to my niece and nephew. He has spent the last 30 years working in the telecom industry where he has worked in almost every state while climbing, building and maintaining communication towers. In his free time he enjoys reading, playing games and going to shows with our custom vehicle club Magical Minis.

Dad started having what he though were stomach issues in January. He was working on the road and going back and forth between Phoenix, San Diego and Las Vegas for work at the time. As most know my father has never left a job undone and has always put work first. In February he left a job before it was done and drove 2 days to get home. He wanted to make sure his dogs were home before going to the doctor because he knew something was really wrong. We tried to schedule appointments and got told there was almost a month wait at the time. When the time came we were not able to get him in due to the COVID-19 epidemic. We were told stomach issues were not essential & It was not until my father started to bleed when he would go to the bathroom before they got him in. Once he could finally be seen he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. The tumor is so large that they opted for surgery as soon as they could for a diversion colostomy to keep his colon from rupturing. While in the hospital he was told he had an infection and then told he had pneumonia. He stayed in the hospital for 10 days before coming home.
.
He was only home 3 full days and we thought doing well. He got up to go to the restroom and could not catch his breath. I had to call 911 and have him taken by ambulance to the ER. He is now in the ICU with blood clots in his lungs, heart and had enteral bleeding where his port was put in. We are waiting to see how long he will be in the ICU before he is moved to the main part of the hospital. He is supposed to be starting Chemo and Radiation this week and looks like it may get postponed again unless the teams can do it while he is there already.
.

My father has a long road and a long fight ahead of him. I do not know how much this will cost him but while he is not able to work he is stacking up medical bills, the day to day bills and has more surgeries to come.  We will be using the donations to cover these medical procedures, medications, items needed to help make things easier for him to get around and for bill needs as he is unable to work at this time. I am also working full time and helping with as much of the home care and bills as I can to keep the costs down.
.
I am truly grateful and can not begin to thank you all enough for the kindness and support while we battle these hard times. We could not do this without the support and love from all of our friends and family. You are all truly amazing and thank you, thank you, thank you!
