It’s incredibly hard to even find the words to write this, because Emily is someone who means so much to all of us and to our entire community. No one ever expects to see someone they love face something so unfair and heartbreaking, but if there’s one thing we all know about Emily, it’s that she is strong, resilient, and an absolute warrior and is fighting this battle head-on and will beat this ugly disease, surrounded every step of the way by her family, a huge village of friends, her soccer community and loved ones standing right beside her.

A few months ago, Emily was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer which has also spread to her liver. She is currently receiving chemotherapy treatments and has undergone surgery. These past few months have been incredibly difficult for Emily, Scott, and their boys, but she continues to face every challenge with courage, strength, and determination.

This GoFundMe was created to help with the financial burden of medical expenses not covered by insurance, household and daily living expenses, and the many unexpected costs that come with a long battle like this. Most importantly, it allows Emily and her family to focus on what matters most… her healing and time together with her family.
