Help Return Wildlife to the Wild!

Donation protected
UPDATE: The enclosure goal has been met! We are continuing to receive donations that will go towards patients and rescue missions like this injured barred owl Mother and her 3 babies. I removed Mom from a tree, her leg trapped and severely injured and cared for her 3 young owlets.
I recently rescued a swan this Mothers Day Weekend and removed an embedded fishing hook. I returned it to its mate and 7 babies! Although this is not a bird I typically rehab, I could not let it suffer. I respond to many types of calls to help where I can. Please continue to donate towards my cause!can.

The top 20 donations for this new raptor housing will be acknowledged on a plaque affixed to the unit.  You will be remembered as caring for these raptors and supporting their road back to health and release into the wild.

My name is Jessica Zorge and I am passionate about rehabilitating raptors.  I am asking for your help to purchase new housing to help them heal so I can release them back to nature.

I am seeking donations to assist with the purchase of a 4-chamber raptor enclosure which will expand my space allowing me to care for multiple raptors at the same time.  The housing I have identified is made with aluminum and steel and will not rot or decay like most aviary housing, meaning I won’t have to replace it (or ask for money for housing) for decades!  The walls of this unit can easily move to provide the appropriate flight space for the raptor.  This flexibility is very exciting as it will allow me to adjust the aviary based upon the specific needs of the raptors.

I rehabilitate and release 10-20 raptors a year, but the rehabilitation of a raptor takes time. During the healing process, a raptor needs housing that keeps it safe from the elements and other predators.  The best way to rehabilitate an injured raptor is to house it in a unit where it can fly freely, which strengthens their muscles and gives them a better chance to survive once they are released.

All of my expenses are paid for out-of-pocket. Your donations will greatly help my endeavor towards purchasing this additional space which will greatly benefit our local birds of prey.

These birds of prey need our help, please consider donating to this worthy cause. Thank you!

About Me:
I am the only private, licensed raptor rehabilitator in the Central Massachusetts area.  I have over ten years of experience in caring for injured raptors and am certified as an Animal Control Officer and Veterinary Technician.  I have a BS in Veterinary Science, hold both State and Federal licenses to rehabilitate wildlife, and am a licensed raptor educator.  I field over a hundred calls a year from private citizens and government agencies to answer questions and assist injured raptors in finding care.

About My Work:
This pandemic has not slowed down the baby owls and injured raptors in need, but it has forced other wildlife clinics to close or limit admissions.  I am still accepting injured raptors and have had over 40 calls in the past 3 weeks.  I continue to rehabilitate these birds of prey paying to provide a balanced diet, supportive care, housing, equipment and gas for travel of rescues and releases.

During the past months, I've had 15 owls and 1 hawk under my care, consulted with many people over the phone about downed raptors, and rescued an injured Broad-winged hawk from a neighboring town. You all continue to care about wildlife and ensure they are getting the care they need.  I'm so grateful and so are the raptors.  If you call me, I will answer. If you have an injured raptor, I will help you. If you are local I will find a way to either personally get to you or work with an agency to help with the assessment.
