Weasel Inn Sassparilly is a small, family run business that makes Homemade Sassparilla and Birch Root Beers. You can find us at Renaissance Festivals, Civil War re-enactments, Society For Creative Anachronism (SCA) Wars, County Fairs and other special events selling our wares in cool, refillable, collectible bottles! We have customers who have had their bottles for over 15 years and bring them back every chance they can to get them refilled.
Last September, while helping some friends move their trailer, there was an accident that totaled my company truck. It was a huge setback, but we recovered and barely made it through the off season. We started this season off with high hopes and expectations, but on April 5, 2016, after having two new tires put on trailer, we were coming home from a show when the wheel broke apart and put us in the wall totaling my new truck, my trailer, and most of my equipment...as a single dad of two boys, this business is my only source of income. Those of you that know me personally, know that I started this business when I had nothing left...my life had fallen apart and I was lost! This business saved my life and created a bond with my boys and has given them a work ethic and a want and desire to continue running the family biz when they are adults...so this has been a devestating loss. Yes, I have insurance, but they are fighting me on the trailer and contents and there will be legal battles and attorney fees in the future, but that leaves me with trying to come up with funds now to keep working, get a new truck and trailer and equipment to sell soda and feed my family and pay monthly mortgage and bills...I hate to ask friends, but this is where I am at...
