For those of you who may not know, this is my cousin Nicole. Nikki or Brianna to friends and family.
In September of 2022 she discovered a small lump in her breast. With all the ultrasounds and mammograms it was in May of 2023 she was diagnosed with Tripe Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Stage 2 grade 3.
Nikki started chemotherapy back in June. Through the process she faced some obstacles, one in particular led her in the hospital with an infection. It was a scary time for of course herself and the family. After 3 months she completed 12 rounds of Taxol/Carboplatin chemotherapy.
Then she was onto doxorubicin, which is also referred to as the red devil (the name speaks for itself). She actually finished her last round less than a week ago.
Due to the chemo treatment she deals with symptoms, such as body aches & pains, brain fog, hair loss, as well as headaches, being lethargic and fatigue.
She is almost at the finish line and her insurance is not covering a medicine that she needs. So now she visits the doctors office daily to receive shots in lieu of the medication. On top of that, they also denied an MRI which now sets her schedule back.
Nikki has two beautiful girls, Dahlilah who is 8 and Lilian who is 6. They are her world, and she is there’s. She has continued to remain positive, kept a smile on her face, and pushed through the tough days for her girls. She has done everything in her power to keep them happy and things as “normal” as she can. Nikki is beyond a wonderful mother and her daughters are blessed to have her. We all are blessed to have her in our lives.
With all the treatments and doctors visits on top of having two girls to care for bills are piling up. Nikki is unfortunately unable to continue her job which was working with children, and because she is immune compromised it would not be in her best interest.
Even now, with all this going on in her life she has not once asked anyone for any kind of help or hand outs. I think that now, more than ever it would be great if she can receive some kind of help. So, what better way than to set this up for her! I love my cousin dearly her and I have been close since the day we were born. She is my best friend and to see her going through this, fighting this battle that life threw at her breaks my soul. So if you can help me help her and donate I would greatly appreciate it. Anything helps and I know her and her girls would be eternally grateful!
