Please help if you can...
Our sweet Polly Fortune Garceau went to Nevada to nurse a dear friend back to health after surgery and while there... suddenly became very sick herself.
She suffered 3+ heart attacks and a UTI. Her health continued to spiral downward and she was hospitalized herself in the ICU. She became weak, unable to even move her limbs and was put on oxygen. After stabilizing her she was sent to a rehab facility for physical therapy but steadily declined.
So far away from family and friends, she became depressed and despondent... she developed bed sores and mouth sores and lost her appetite and lots of weight. She was put on a feeding tube, catheterized and the therapy was stopped.
Her son came to visit 3 times from Hawaii and tried to encourage her but his visits were so short and any progress he made was reversed after he left.
We knew she needed to come home. Back to New Hampshire. Where her church family and friends could minister to her and visit with her daily and encourage her to press on. Medical professionals said she could not travel...BUT we serve a miracle working God!
Pastor Heidi was able to fly down this week to pray and be with her and what a change has taken place! She is responding and hopeful (worshipping God in song and raising her hands in praise) but still so weak. While Heidi was there she was able to pass a "swallowing test" and they were able to remove the feeding tube and begin working on some physical therapy again.
We are trusting (and EXPECTING) God to come through and allow us to fly her home. She will have a VERY difficult time sitting in a CRAMPED coach seat for the entire flight - so we are asking those who know and love her to search their hearts and help us raise the $1500 needed to bring her home in the FIRST CLASS area of the plane where she can recline (almost fully).
Once home, she will head to another rehab facility nearby and we can continue the amazing progress we've witnessed so far. Please keep her in your prayers for strength and encouragement and join us in thanking our LOVING and MERCIFUL heavenly Father for His GOODNESS... For His plans to BLESS Polly and give her a hope and a future!
Polly is the "honorary Grammy" to so many of us at Faith River Church and is known and loved by all, including her FIRST church family at Calvary Baptist in Claremont (of which she was one of the founding members) Polly has been instrumental in winning the souls of so many to Christ Jesus through both prayer and her humble acts of service. We KNOW that God has so much MORE in store for this dedicated saint.
Thank you IN ADVANCE to all those who's lives she has touched and who RISE UP to meet the challenge of this need... GOD BLESS YOU!!!
