On May 22nd, Michael Wallimann was in a dirt biking accident that turned serious quickly. His friends made all the proper judgements and called 911. Despite wearing a helmet, he ended up being mediflighted to Sutter Roseville Hospital as it was the closest Trauma Center. As soon as he got there, he was sent into to receive immediate surgery on three brain bleeds. They removed a portion of his skull to relieve swelling and pressure. The doctors were also able to indentify broken bones on his face and broken ribs. He was intubated and sedated from when he arrived at the hospital.
Today, May 27th, Michael is still intubated and sedated and has yet to be able to have a steady process coming off the sedation medication. His swelling and brain all are showing great signs, but there is still tremendous progress to be made. Everyday is a test to see if he is ready to be taken off sedation to prepare for the next steps.
As of this time, we have no idea how his memory, speech, or motor skills will be effected by this. The doctors have prepared his immediate family for rehabilitation and months of recovery. 
Unfortunately due to Covid-19 Michael’s family is not allowed to see him or be by his side during this unsure time.
Michael is so independent in all his endeavors. We are reaching out to help him continue this journey, as we know his medical treatments, rehabilitation, recovery, and current bills has and will be effected. He does have his own insurance, but he will not be able to cover this alone.
