“I’m saying no to chemo and yes to LIVIN! I’m going to Mexico!

I am refusing to believe that my only option is more chemotherapy. God is showing me a path and I am laying everything down at his feet and taking up my Armor to fight. I am fighting not just for me but for also others. ” -Laura

Our dear friend Laura is courageously stepping into her third battle with cancer, holding tight to hope through alternative treatments — but she can’t take this journey alone.

On the 4th of July, Laura suffered a devastating fall that shattered her femur in half. She was rushed to the hospital, where surgeons placed a titanium rod in her leg to repair the break. With incredible strength and determination, Laura has been working hard on her recovery and has already come a long way on that healing journey. However, during her hospital stay, further testing revealed heartbreaking news: the cancer had returned — and this time, it had spread. Laura was officially diagnosed with Stage 4 triple-positive breast cancer.

Laura started treatment quickly after her hospital stay and also set up a second opinion with the Mayo Clinic- but the news received there was less than ideal and not what Laura was hoping to hear. One thing about Laura- she will never give up- she is a fighter- Laura was determined to find alternative solutions to fighting cancer again. She did research, talked to others in her community, and looked to prayer to find something that was fit for her. She found Hope4Cancer in Mexico and knows that this is something that fits with her lifestyle, beliefs and will give her the outcomes and time she is deeply praying for.

To know Laura is to love Laura. She is a devoted mother to three beautiful daughters, a cherished daughter, sister, niece, and cousin within a large and loving family. As a friend, Laura’s warmth and kindness are unmatched — she has a way of making everyone she meets feel like family, like you have known her your entire life. Surrounded by a strong support system, she has been lifted, cheered on, and wrapped in love every step of the way. Laura’s deep faith as a God-fearing Christian gives her unshakable trust in Christ, her Savior, and peace in knowing she is held in His hands through prayer and dedicating her journey to the Lord. Beyond her faith and family, Laura’s creativity shines bright every single day. She is an endless source of ideas, a natural entrepreneur, and an incredible event planner — no one can create a balloon arch quite like her! This past year, she discovered a new passion in diving, earning her certification and falling in love with the underwater world, basically Laura is a mermaid! Laura is truly one of a kind, and her joy, creativity, and faith inspire everyone blessed to know her.

“Laura, my first born, is a big part of my life. She is a substitute teacher here in Florida and a Mother of three.
