Help us help the Crawmer family provide much needed medical support for their son, Jack.
Jack is eight years old and is currently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory integration disorders, is non-verbal (unable to speak), and several other psychological and physical impairments. One of the major difficulties the Crawmer family faces with Jack is his impulse to repetitively strike his head on objects. This has resulted in injuries such as black eyes, bleeding, concussions and even a broken nose. When attempting to communicate, Jack can injure those around him by scratching, pinching, clawing, kicking and biting.
As a result of Jack's escalating behavior pattern and the danger he poses to himself, he was admitted into the psychiatric ward at Seattle Childrens' Hospital on Sunday December 14th. There, Jack is being tested for a variety of root causes, being reassessed with a functional behavior plan, and will be provided a new pharmaceutical management plan.
Jack's doctors highly desire that he begin in-depth genetic testing as this may alter their therapy recommendations and medical treatment plans. Unfortunately, the Crawmer's insurance will not pay for the incredibly expensive testing. This, combined with the considerable costs being accrued for Jack's impatient stay and care, has resulted in the Crawmer family's need of our financial support.
