Currently going through an extremely stressful time, our beloved Lexi is extremely unwell after contracting tetanus. I never new how horrible tetanus was, it rapidly results in nerve damage that causes stiffening and paralysis. Lexi is currently under the care of The Austin veterinary care specialists and has a long journey ahead. Lexi became fully paralyzed needing intensive care, being ventilated at first and now has had a Tracheostomy, she also has a peg tube for feeding and double catheterization.

This little girl came to me after a long journey of trying to heal my mental health due to my previous job, I had finally felt that I was healing. She is an amazing dog and not only heals my heart but has also become an amazing therapy dog for our clients with a disability (who would have thought a Bull Terrier could be)

Her current condition has brought back many painful memories of me supporting and fighting for individuals who had major disabilities, manage and fight severe medical conditions. For this reason and that to lose her would mean losing myself, we are going to keep fighting and keep the intensive care going. To date this has been mainly by our insurance, however we have now exceeded the $30k limit and with an average basic daily fee of around $2500 it is likely to cost us at least another $15k till we can get her home and commence the long journey of recovery. I have never asked for help before but find myself needing it desperately so have set up a Go Fund me page.

Any unneeded funds will be given to The Austin to help other animals in desperate need.
