My name is Teri Hay, and I am writing because my Dear Friend of 6 years and hair stylist, Marlys Moilanen, fell on Sunday, October 29th, in her driveway attempting to wash her car. Marlys is 76 years old (soon to be 77) and works in Copper Basin as a hairstylist at Beauty Suites. She is an independent contractor and relies solely on the income that she receives from styling hair. When Marlys fell on Sunday, she instantly knew something was wrong. Upon arriving at the emergency room, she was x-rayed and given medical attention. The doctor informed her she broke her left wrist and will not be able to work for at least six weeks.

Since I've known Marlys, she has been a great joy and inspiration. She is a fantastic person and a professional individual. Marlys is kind, loving, loyal, and smart. She has helped numerous neighbors by dropping off food, and donating her time. She helps in ways you can't imagine. She has a home but won't be able to make the mortgage. She won't be able to pay her bills or buy groceries. I am reaching out to all of you kind people in hopes that you might help make Marlys journey over the next six weeks a little easier. She is worried about just keeping her head above water. If you could please find it in your heart to help her, it would ease her mind, and I would be eternally grateful to each and every one of you!
