Hello,
My friend's sweet baby boy, Spud, was recently diagnosed with Acanthomatous Ameloblastoma. He is a 6-year-old Golden Retriever.
UPDATE:
Spud received his consultation with the Oncologist. They are optimistic that this was caught in time, and in the best possible area to be removed. He is scheduled for a CT scan on April, 18th. He will receive the surgery if his CT scan is clear!
This is a mouth cancer. What we have learned so far is that Acanthomatous Ameloblastoma is a benign oral tumor that grows and spreads aggressively in the jawbones of dogs. A prompt diagnosis is essential for the best possible outcome. Luckily, he is in the early stage, but he will need it removed quickly. It will start to metastasize to other parts of the body and become life-threatening. He will need to have invasive surgery performed on his mouth to remove the tumor and a portion of the jaw.
As we know, vet procedures are very expensive. I'm trying to help them raise money to save their dog, Spud! Every little bit helps.
Thank you!
