SEVA Aid (Chanctonbury Churches Mission Trip)
Donation protected
As Interns at Chanctonbury Churches, we have been granted the opportunity to go on a three week mission trip at the end of February 2020 to work with SEVA (Social Welfare Foundation) who are inspired by the example of Jesus to go and love a people group who are pushed to the edges of society. SEVA works with the Adivasi tribal people, living in the outskirts of Nashik City in the tribal belt of India. This particular tribe are treated as outcasts by their society. They are considered to be lower than the 'untouchables', the lowest social tier in the caste system. Funds raised in this campaign will be used to support SEVA and the welfare of the Adviasi through a variety of means; including but not limited to food, shelter, clothing, financial and medical aid. The church has also generously offered to price-match any amount of money raised. Our goal is to help provide the Adivasi with a basic standard of living, and to further bring to light the inherent value they have as human beings and as children of God. We will also be spending a week or so working with children closer to the city itself.
As part of this campaign, I will be hiking up to the peak of Mount Snowdon, the highest point in Wales. Any sort of sponsorship (please do not feel obliged to only give large amounts!) would be greatly appreciated by everyone involved. Thank you so much!
God bless,
Rayan
