On September 27, 2020, my dear friend & coworker David “Keith” Merrifield left St. Thomas to attempt to see his Mom who was gravely ill.  He had been worried & longing to see about her for some time .  He was also dealing with his own health
issues & his work family was truly concerned for him.  

Before he could arrive to his Mom , Keith suffered a stroke & spent almost a week in the hospital in Miami.  He has since been discharged and has begun the
necessary rehabilitation to improve his speech & strength.   Every day brings a
new challenge.  With God at the helm and with the help of his nuclear family, church family, work family, & many friends, Keith will overcome!  

His Mom recently transitioned to eternal life where earthly suffering is no more &LOVE  is the truest & rarest of all!
I have known Keith for more than 25 years as a coworker, friend, confidante, &
the Godfather to my 23 year old son.  I think he has at least 50 godchildren  ,
which is a testimony to  his character.  For those blessed to know Keith , we can all attest to the fact that he is hard working(too hard) , a dedicated Father, a man of
integrity, a teacher/mentor , & an awesome cook.  Mostly, Keith is a man of God & that faith has gotten him through some pretty difficult times , but none like the
times & uncertainty that are upon him now.
Sometimes the “Blessing” is in the mess...we just have to trust in Him.  God
answers prayer through People and there are many who are praying for him daily.  
The faithful know that life is a journey & Jesus walks with us through it all!
Without affliction we can never experience the glory of God!
 I implore all who know & love Keith to continue to pray for a full & complete
recovery.  Pray for him to find peace & comfort for the loss of his beloved Mother.  May he know that joy cometh in the morning.

return to health & work.
