Late this Spring, Heather found out she has cancer. We have since learned that she has tumors in her ovaries, liver, and small intestine. In June, she and Robin spent time at an inpatient facility dedicated to personalized care, learning about an intense regimen and developing skills to carry them through this journey alongside the treatment and care of her oncology team at UCSF.
When this diagnosis landed, Heather and Robin had *just* moved into their dream house, and had incurred expenses to prepare their old house for sale. Now with Heather being unable to collect her full salary, not only are they faced with the challenge of unexpected costs, they have to carry multiple mortgages for longer than they had budgeted. They have made the decision to move back to the old house.
Friends and family, near and far, have been wondering how to help. We are starting this campaign because the most helpful contributions that they can accept at this time are funds to help offset unexpected costs. Strict food protocols prohibit meal trains. They are trying to avoid accumulating things that they will have to keep track of as they re-pack and move again. Given these extra challenges, your contribution here would be the most amazing gift of support.
For more information about her journey, we are keeping a journal updated for friends and family on Heather's Caring Bridge site: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/heatherbuddies
