Zeus' treatment

Donation protected
This is really the last thing I wanted to do but I would do anything for my bunnies!
Zeus is a nearly seven year old happy boy who thinks he is still a young boy at heart and is the least lazy out of my three, loves exploring the garden and will escape out of the back door if there's the chance. He was the boy that made me fall in love with bunnies when I brought him and Apollo home from work in March 2019, and although we sadly lost Apollo, Zeus Sophie and Hughie live a life of luxury in their room in my house.
Recently Zeus' legs started getting stiff and his back legs were dragging a little bit so I thought I'd take him for a health check at his vets, who examined him and said everything was looking fine. They did a blood test as well, including testing for e-cuniculi, and that came back clear/negative too. However, I wasn't as such relived because I knew something was up, despite him still acting like himself. I managed to book him in for a 'second opinion' vet appointment at Origin Vets in Cardiff with Doctor Sophie the rabbit expert, and thank God I did.
Zeus has a mass at the base of his left ear that is swelling and pushing into his brain, he has nerve damage in his face and when Sophie examined his bladder he seemed very uncomfortable. They sent off for a second blood test to primarily test for EC again as even though I was told he was negative for EC, this wasn't on his records and when Origin rang the other vets for confirmation, they said they never tested for EC in the first place. I received the results of this blood test on 23rd May and sadly it confirmed Zeus has a very high positive result for EC.
The next stage for Zeus was a CT scan to look into what is going on with his head and then surgery following that, although the surgery now has to be postponed until the EC has gone. The CT scan on his beautiful little head is a must and it's been highly recommended to me that they do a scan on his whole body which will cost extra. This is happening on June 4th. The whole body scan overall costs roughly £1800, then his op will be at least £1000 but need confirmation after the results when Sophie will know what she's doing. Sadly, his insurance only goes up to £1500 so I've got to magic a whole lot more money out of my arse.
Obviously times are hard for everyone but a few people recommended me to make a go fund me, which is why I'm doing so. Him not having these procedures done is not an option for me but sadly I've already now maxed out one credit card on his second opinion vets appointment, as his appointment, painkillers and second blood test came to roughly £420. When I get paperwork/proof of costs I will post it on here so I can be as transparent as possible.
If this ends up going well then I will try my best to pay it forward in the future, even if it's a gradual pay it forward.
And if by some miracle the money gods are listening, if I get anything over what I need, every single penny of that will be donated to Carrot Cottage Rabbit Rescue. Daisy and Chris run their sanctuary in their back garden and are two of the most amazing inspirational and passionate people I know. Every bunny they have receives the best quality care and they will even stay up all night if a bunny needs 24/7 assistance. I dream of doing what they do but I'm far too over emotional and gobby. They're only funded by donations so are always needing as much help as they can get.
To anyone who donates, no matter how much you donate, it means so much more to me than you will ever know. My starting goal for now is £1000 but I will change this once I know the price of the surgery.
