I'm reaching out to you today with a heavy heart to share that my dad, Shankar Adhikari, is facing a critical health challenge. Doctors have recommended immediate pacemaker surgery to stabilize his heart rhythm and improve his quality of life. My dad is the hardest-working immigrant man I know and inspires me every day. He is currently in the ICU due to a dangerously low resting heart rate of around 30 bpm. On 7/12, he underwent one surgery, and he is scheduled for another procedure in the coming week.

My dad has always been the rock of our family: selfless, hardworking, and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, but now he needs our support.

Unfortunately, the cost of medical treatments and surgeries is substantial, and despite our best efforts, the financial burden is overwhelming. My dad is the primary income source for our household, and with his health declining, I'm deeply concerned about how we will manage the costs of his hospital stay and ongoing medical care.

That's why I've set up this GoFundMe to raise money to cover the expenses associated with the hospital stay, pacemaker surgery, and post-operative care.

Update (07/19) - I am immensely relieved to share the news that my father's surgery was a success, and he is gradually improving. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your support and kindness during this challenging period. Although, the ICU hospitalization, two pacemaker procedures, and post operative care, the estimated total is expected to reach around 250k.  His insurance covers only a portion of the overall hospital bills. He is the primary income source for our household, and with him being on complete bed rest for a few months, the estimated expense will increase significantly, so I am compelled to raise the GoFundMe goal to 50k in hopes of alleviating some of this financial burden.
