Just Breathe
That photo is me with my former elliptical. When I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis 12 years ago I had very thick, gross stuff stuck in my lungs. It was increasingly hard to deal with, but I quickly found the power of a good elliptical got my lungs moving and I was able to take myself to completely normal lung function and better ability to clear the funky goo.
Now I have sadly wound up back in the place of needing that action. I need to do this at home because the coughing it bringson isn’t pleasant. I need a machine that will not hurt my aging knees and will keep me motivated. I have to do this. The doctor wants to order me a vest that I would have to wear to shake my lungs. If it comes to that then it does, but my heart believes I can do this without a vest and it will be better for my overall health.
I am reaching out in case you have an interest in helping. The medical bills after a week of hospitalization are going to take a toll already. I beg you not to feel the tiniest bit obligated!! I am reaching for a particular machine that I feel will meet all my goals and fit in the space I have available. I am leaving the rest in God’s hands and seeing what happens.
This feels awkward, as leaving one”s comfort zone does. I am grateful for each of you who even reads my message. Learning about Cystic Fibrosis and keeping me and others in your prayers is so appreciated! God bless! Be good to your lungs, they are so important!!! Xoxo
