Butch's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
As many of you know, my dad has been battling neck cancer over the last year. He was diagnosed early and was told that if he went through a rigorous bout of chemotherapy and radiation, he would likely win the battle. I am happy to report that he is cancer free and is on the long road to recovery. After having had a feeding tube for months, he has lost approximately 30 pounds.
He sees oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists multiple times per month and it seems he is constantly undergoing scans and tests to ensure the cancer is truly gone.
You may recall me posting a GoFundMe page for my dad last year and then immediately taking it down and refunding the three donations we received within the first half hour. I set up the page as a surprise for my dad so he wouldn't have to worry about the financial burden that cancer brings. When I told him about the page, he felt embarrassed to have to ask for money and asked me to take it down. Now that some time has passed and the medical bills are racking up, I re-visited this idea with my dad and he has agreed to let me re-post this page for him. I hope that in this season of giving, you might find it in your hearts to donate to my dad's medical bill fund. If finances do not allow, please continue to pray for his full recovery and for the cancer to stay far, far away.
God has shown such grace to our family. We are so thankful for all the prayers from our friends and family throughout my dad's journey. We have seen a side of caring and compassion that only exists in times of deep tribulation and for that, we are truly grateful.
