Help me get a Service Puppy!
Donation protected
Hello, my lovely internet community!
I really need your help to pay for a life-saving service dog.
My name is Miriam, and my body is frozen like a statue. I have a rare genetic condition called Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP for short) where my body creates bone in and around muscles, tendons, and other bones, leading to increasing immobility. At this point the only parts of my body that move are my eyes, mouth/jaw, and some of my finger joints. There is no treatment or cure. (More information about FOP here .)
Getting my first service dog, Yahtzee, was an absolute life-changer. He is able to pick things up that I drop or can't reach, press buttons for elevators, turn on lights, open doors, etc. And he provides constant love and companionship in what can be at times a very lonely and bleak life.
However, Yahtzee is getting close to retirement, and replacing him has been a major challenge. Because I can no longer travel, I need a dog and trainer who can come to me. Thankfully, we have found a puppy and also trainer.
But to make this dream come true we need to raise $20,000. So I am humbly asking for your help. Any amount you can give will help -- it all adds up -- and I will be forever grateful.
This is a reasonable budget for a trained service dog, and we are very lucky to have found a local trainer.
There is no government or non-profit funding for my situation as I can’t travel and we have the dog and trainer identified. We really need your help.
A note from Yahtzee:
Hi! I'm Yahtzee, and I am a Very Good Boy who is also a service dog. My Person is extremely physically disabled, so I do important things for her like pick up stuff off the floor, turn on lights, open doors, and snuggle.
However, I'm getting a bit too old for the job, and it's super important to me that I help her get a dog who can look after her when I'm gone. But this requires something called "money".
I'd pay for this myself, but I'm a dog. Dogs don't have money. My person pays me well in food and pettings and toys and love, but even though head pets and peanut butter are super important, the trainer needs actual money. (Humans have weird priorities. A piece of paper, more important than a belly rub???)
So that's where you come in! Please contribute to my goal of PUPPY. If we raise enough money to do this, I'll be able to retire and take naps on the couch knowing my person will be well taken care of
Please?
Here's me:

And here's the puppies:

And here's me with my person:

See? Doesn't she deserve another Very Good Boy to help her out???
Woof and tail wags,
Yahtzee the Very Good Boy
