Save Mental Health- Kaiser Therapists on Strike
Hello East Bay Community-
We have reached a tentative agreement with Kaiser as of 10/18/22. Thank you for all the support you have shown our brave mental health clinicians for speaking up and advocating for what is right.
Calling all activists and social justice warriors, we need your support! Starting August 15th, over 2,000 Kaiser Northern California mental health clinicians went on strike to protest long wait times in between therapy sessions, inequitable access to mental health, and unsustainable working conditions. We are on day WEEK 7 of the longest mental health strike in history. We have been advocating for Kaiser to hire more therapists to meet the increased mental health demand and provide timely quality care for years! Kaiser has turned a deaf ear to our asks despite the obvious and crushing need. With the passing of SB221 in July, Kaiser is legally required to provide a return therapy appointment within 10 days. They are woefully out of compliance!! Folks deserve better. Mental Health Care is Health Care! Please support our brave and dedicated therapists who give their all to support you and yours! Every little bit helps to help our Therapists pay their bills, manage child care, and stay out on the picket lines!
Help Oakland Child & Family Psychiatry therapists stay out on the picket lines advocating for patients' rights by donating to our strike hardship fund.
