On Thursday, October 21st, 2021 my sister received a phone call that every parent dreads, your child has been shot and is in critical condition. My nephew Pedro was walking down the street with his friends when a car approached them and starting shooting at them. He was not causing any harm to anyone, he was not trespassing, he was simply walking down the street. Although this was not a random act, the shot that was fired was not intended for him. He was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. By the Grace of God, he survived despite being shot in the face. Unfortunately, he lost complete vision of his right eye and will eventually lose his right eye entirely. He had his first surgery on Friday, October 22nd and we have been told he will need multiple more.

My sister is a single mother who works 2 jobs to provide for her children. At this time, we are asking for help so that she can stay at the hospital with Pedro and relieve her of the financial burden of missing work. These funds will also help with the traveling expenses for any and all future surgeries and follow up appointments at the trauma center he's located at.
