Karen’s Recovery

Hi all,

I’ve been on the fence about doing one of these for a while.

Many of you have had the pleasure of meeting my mom Karen. And as most of you know she is the most kind, caring and selfless person you will meet. With a love for all things Disney, traveling and spending time with family.

Recently she has been going through some health issues. Currently, she is in the hospital as she was recently diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) - it is rare neurological disorder in which a person’s immune system mistakenly attacks part of their peripheral nervous system - the network of nerves that carries signals from the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body. Leaving her with extreme muscle weakness unable to walk or do most things on her own without assistance.

She will be in the hospital for an unknown amount of time getting the care she needs, then will need to move on to rehab to help gain back her mobility with an estimated time of weeks to months.

My mother is a proud woman. (As she should be) She is the light of my life and I truly could not do it without her. She will probably have my head for creating this as she doesn’t want to be a “bother”. I want to show her how many people love and care about her. She has a long road ahead of her! Anything you can donate will be appreciated.
