Get Well Wood

Friends,

It's that time of year to reflect, to be thankful, to enjoy time with your friends and family and to look around at all the wonderful things you have whether they're possessions, memories or wonderful people in your life.

It's also time to give back, to think about others, to realize some people are struggling, have had a tough year or could just use a pick me up.

Many of you know Ryan Wood. Whether he’s a recent acquaintance or a long time friend you should know that he's always cared about others. He's a good friend with an open ear, always willing to listen. He also has a big heart; some would say he’s a romantic. More than anything, he always seems to be in good spirits with a good attitude.

I'm writing this to reach out to people that care about Ryan. He needs our help. Ryan has had some serious health issues over the last year and half. He's been in and out of the hospital since his kidneys failed. He has more bad days than good. He's constantly worn down and tired from dialysis or the latest medical complication. He tries to keep that upbeat spirit he’s known for but it's hard and who can blame him? He truly can't seem to catch a break.

I challenge all of you to think about how good you have it and how lucky you are. Try and contemplate Ryan's situation and how extremely difficult and challenging it would be (especially at this time of year). I think the least we can do is let him know that WE CARE. Let’s let him know that we want him to, need him to, keep fighting. We need to remind him that he can't give up and needs to hang in there until he finally receives his transplants.

Ryan can't work and is struggling financially as he receives very little assistance. I'd like to encourage everyone to donate to Ryan's cause.

A $100 donation would be very generous and would help Ryan tremendously. If you can do more, that would be great but also remember that every little bit helps. Any amount that you feel comfortable donating will be sincerely appreciated.

Please keep in mind that although your gift of money will go a long way, just letting Ryan know that he’s in your thoughts will help lift his spirit. Please take a little time out of your day to send him a quick note or word of encouragement.

Happy Holidays to all of you and thanks in advance for your support and generous donations!!
