Medical science does not know what is keeping Izzy, alive, as he has exceeded his poultry life expectancy of 8–9 years, and is now 13 years old, and inexplicably stable, even though his medical health continues to deteriorate at an alarming pace. As his father, it is exceedingly painful to observe the continuous regression of his already severely limited cognitive and physical skills. He is currently unable to virtually do anything without requiring complete assistance. Nevertheless, I strongly purport that what is an integral component in keeping Izzy alive is the number of hearts that he has touched, who have responded by perpetually beseeching the Almighty G-d on Izzy’s behalf, via fervent prayer.
I would like to extend this effort into our sanctified synagogue, whereby through the magnanimous assistance of family and his remarkable friends, Izzy donated a newly commissioned Torah Scroll, in celebration of his most unexpected Bar-Mitzvah. In the aspiration that will be deemed meritorious for Izzy, within the proverbial eyes of the Omnipresent G-d, the family is embarking upon creating a Judaica library, within our synagogue, Kehillas Meor Yisroel, which will include, but will not be limited to; biographies of current, and past rabbinical, Luminaries, Jewish law books, and commentary on the written, and oral Torah.
Each addition to Izzy’s library, will hopefully be meritorious for his relevant and meaningful life to continue, irrespective of the fact-based medical reality of his condition!
Thank you for your support in this life-saving project!
