Izzy’s Journey to Becoming a Forensic Scientist: A Call for Support

Our daughter Izzy is about to embark on an incredible journey, and we’re reaching out to share her story and ask for your help to set her up for success. Izzy is the second of our daughters to chase her dreams in college, a milestone that fills us with pride—especially since neither of us, her parents, finished college ourselves. This fall, Izzy’s heading 750 miles away from home to Glendale, Arizona, ASU West Valley Campus to pursue a degree in forensic science, a challenging and inspiring field that demands grit, focus, and determination.

Izzy has always been a curious problem-solver, fascinated by science and driven to make a difference. Her dream of becoming a forensic scientist—using science to uncover truth and bring justice—is a testament to her passion and heart.

But as any parent knows, starting college is a big leap, and we want to give Izzy every chance to thrive in this demanding program from day one.

As a family, our resources are stretched thin. The costs of travel, hotel stays, and other expenses to get Izzy settled in Glendale have added up quickly, leaving us with little extra to cover the dorm supplies she’ll need to create a comfortable, functional space to study and grow. Since we’re so far from Arizona, we’ll need to purchase everything on-site or locally in the Glendale area—items like bedding, storage solutions, desk organizers, and other essentials to make her dorm feel like home.
