Hi! My name is Isabela Tanashian, and I am writing and directing my very first short! I am incredibly excited by this project, as I have always known to varying degrees of certainty that my true artistic medium is film.

My primary focus was music composition in college, but the majority of my pieces were inspired by the harrowing imagery of wartime and man-made disasters. Watching surrealist films like Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, The Sacrifice, and Eyes Wide Shut, and even rare arthouse oddities like Fleischer's Zoo Zéro, has sparked an irresistible yearning to write and direct.

Immortal She is based on a surprisingly cohesive dream I had, about an unnamed woman who utilizes an extremely unorthodox escape method during a home burglary. The film will weave dream logic into a chronological storyline and will feature a heavily surrealist atmosphere enhanced by erotic kitsch and psychedelia. In order to realize the atmospheric components of the film, I will require special lighting and equipment rentals, props (which will be thrifted), and materials for set design. Any remaining funds will be used to compensate the actors.
